The story of Noir revolves around a secret society called "the Soldats." From the start, nothing is known about this organization, but when Kirika and Mirielle found one another and form Noir together... Soldats comes into play.
The two assassins work well with one another from the start, and finishes one case after another -- but with each new case, the mysteries of the Soldats begin to unravel. Who are the Soldats, and what is the relation between them and Kirika? Why are they after them with extermination orders?
The designs of the characters and the way the series is present give a feeling of watching a movie in the theatre. Drawings and sound effects are superb. And the music along with the action sequences leaves one wanting for more. The mysteries surrounding everyone as they unravel, becomes one of the main attractions of the anime. Everyone have a dark and secret past that somehow interconnects with others. Who knows what the end might bring.
During one of the Noir special, the director said "...it is possible that everyone will die in the end with all the sins that each of the main protagonist have committed. But if they are to survive, they must jump through near impossible gauntlets." I believe that this is one anime that won't disappoint anyone.
